potentiometric field

potentiometric field
As used in karst hydrology, a discontinuous highly irregular surface representing the static ground-water head as indicated by the level to which water rises in a selected piezometer. In some piezometers, the water-level rise will be greatly different from other piezometers (either higher or lower) or may be non-existent all together.
